Salt Lake City emissions test locations and cost

If your car in Salt Lake City fails
A waiver is a last resort. Each one is issued case by case and remains good for that registration year. According to the county waiver rules, you must meet these requirements:
- A failed inspection showing two or more trouble codes
- Recommended emissions repairs of at least $450 from a licensed shop, along with a diagnostic test
- A second failed inspection in which at least one original code is cleared
Vehicles that have been tampered with or are smoking are not eligible. Learn more about emissions waivers.
