Who needs an El Paso emissions test
In TCEQ's program overview, the El Paso Area covers only El Paso County. According to the DPS emissions criteria, gasoline vehicles registered in the county that are 2 through 24 years old are covered. Texas stopped requiring safety inspections for non-commercial vehicles on January 1, 2025, so you complete the emissions inspection before registering. The Texas emissions test page explains the rules that apply statewide.
